Hands & Feet
Manicure
Don’t let your hands betray you: Take care of your fingernails and hands as much as your face! A manicure usually starts with removing former nail polish and sanitizing the hands. Then, hands soak in a bubbling softening substance and lotion is applied. Cuticle cream helps push cuticle down. Nails are trimmed and filed to the desire length and shape. Some protocols include a hand massage with lotion before applying the polish: clear polish first to strengthen weak nails followed by several layers of color polish and topcoat. You have hundreds of colors to chose from.
Paraffin Hand Treatment: Soothe tired, achy and rough hands with this relaxing treatment. A hydrating cream will be massaged into your hands, after which paraffin covered strips will be layered on top. When the paraffin is cooled and removed the end result is softer and smoother looking skin.
Pedicure
A pedicure usually starts with removing former nail polish and sanitizing the feet. Then, feet soak in a bubbling softening substance and lotion is applied. Dead skin cells on the bottom of feet are rubbed off using a rough stone. Cuticle cream helps push cuticle down. Nails are trimmed and filed to the desire length and shape. Some protocols include leg care below the knee with scrub and a brief massage before applying the polish: clear polish first to strengthen weak nails followed by several layers of color polish and topcoat. You have hundreds of colors to chose from: Go daring on your toenails, anything goes!
Paraffin Foot Treatment: Similar to our Paraffin Hand Treatment, your feet are left feeling softer and smoother with just one treatment. If you are on your feet all day or just need to relax and de-stress, this treatment is for you.
Reflexology
Reflexology takes its roots in acupuncture, which recommended massage to the soles of the feet to stimulate the flow of energy in the body. Blockages of energy field (known as “Qi”) are believed to prevent healing. According to the reflexology theory, certain points on the feet and hands correspond to specific organs and body parts. Applying pressure with hand, thumb and fingers to stimulate certain areas can promote health in the corresponding parts. Reflexology doesn’t usually need oil or lotion. It is often confused with foot massage, which consists of gentle gliding strokes all over the foot without any intended links to other body organs.
Applying pressure on certain areas of the feet can promote health in the corresponding parts. For example, the tips of the toe reflect the head, the heart and chest are around the ball of the foot, the liver, pancreas and kidney are in the arch of the foot and low back and intestines are towards the heel. Reflexology promotes relaxation, improves blood circulation, reduces pain, soothes tired feet, and encourages overall healing. Relaxing yet sometimes painful, it can give a sense of total tension release.
Aroma Therapy
Aromatherapy massage involves gentle manipulations of the soft tissues. But essential oils do the work! 100% pure extracts from plants, trees or flowers, they are applied on your skin, diluted with vegetable oils to avoid irritation. Aromatherapy is a type of a massage using oil, not to be confused with "oil massage", using simple oil without essential extract.
Not only does aroma influence the brain by working on the mood but essential oils may have pharmacological effects. They are known to promote relaxation and well-being, release muscle pain and enhance energy. They all have their own healing properties. Choose the oil according to your condition and expected effects. For example, lavender has a calming effect while lemongrass is uplifting (good for jet lag)

Body
Body Scrubs: Body scrubs are popular body treatments aiming at exfoliating and hydrating the skin. An abrasive material (“granule”) like, for instance, salt, coffee or coconut, mixed with oil or cream is rubbed on the whole body to exfoliate the skin. Once the job is done, the mixture is rinsed off under a thorough shower. Finally, a moisturizer is applied on the body. If part of a package, it can also be the first step to a body wrap or a massage.
A scrub rubs away dead cells and sloughs off flakes that make your skin look dull and lackluster. It reveals the fresh cells underneath and leaves the skin glowing, youthful and hydrated. The level of exfoliation depends on the size of the granules: natural granules exfoliate more than synthetic ones. Choose the scrub type according to the sensitivity of your skin.
Body Wrap: Choose between a Detox or Cellulite Slimming wrap.
A body wrap session usually starts with exfoliating the skin. Then, your entire body is slathered with a mask and wrapped up tightly to keep you warm. Once rinsed off, moisturizer is applied on your soft and glowing skin. Don’t expect a massage, but the therapist will usually use massage techniques when applying the mask. Popular packages combine body wraps with scrubs and massage.
While resting all wrapped up, the heat helps soothing the muscles, opening the pores and sweating so that toxins are flushed from the body. The mask tones and hydrates the skin. Some mask formula may also help releasing pain and inflammation. Expect an improvement of the texture of your skin rather than weight loss. You may temporarily lose a couple of inches due to water loss, but gain them back when rehydrating. Sorry, no miracle here!
